Our first date was to Roosevelt Island, but we didn't take our first photo together until months later when Mihal came over to watch Monty Python. I wanted to have a photo with her, no matter how mundane the moment. --Sofia
Mihal took singing lessons for a while, and I got to sing a duet with her at her recital! We love to share music and sing together. -- Sofia
In February 2024, Mihal and I made a road trip to Staunton, VA. We hiked through a cave that used to be part of a railway and explored the downtown area. I didn't quite think of how cold a cave would be, so Mihal graciously lent me her gloves. -- Sofia
Staunton! Now that was a fun weekend, and a railway tunnel that was cool both literally and metaphorically. (By the way, those gloves were way too big for her, but I was glad to keep her warm.) I would love to go back and hike in those mountains - just not too far up, thanks! These little trips are so good for keeping our lives exciting. - -Mihal
I had a whole plan to propose to Mihal at Brookside Gardens, where we first decided to date. But the rings didn't arrive on-time! So, I proposed on a Monday night at a random cafe, right when the rings came in. --Sofia
I had no idea what her plans were - we had agreed that she'd surprise me. I started to head into the cafe and order right away, when she suddenly pulled me aside. What a surprise indeed! --Mihal
I'm so happy we were able to have both our families over for a visit so that everyone could meet each other. It's exciting to see our families coming together! -- Sofia
